Q1. What specific type of truck driver is the AIRHAWK® seating system designed for?
A1. The AIRHAWK seating system is designed for all drivers who sit long hours in their trucks. Even with drivers who are in and out of their trucks all day, the AIRHAWK seating system can provide a more stable seating environment and absorb additional shock and vibration.

Q2. If I have an air ride seat do I need an AIRHAWK seating system?
A2. An air ride seat will absorb road and truck vibration, but does not have the ability to distribute weight and pressure like the AIRHAWK seating system. Over time, blood flow is still restricted sitting on any foam base seat with or without the air ride system.

Q3. Will the AIRHAWK seating system help specific medical problems?
A3. Because of its pressure distribution qualities, the AIRHAWK seating system has been very effective in reducing discomfort from sciatic nerve problems, hemorrhoids, etc.

Q4. Is the seating system warmer to sit on?
A4. Sitting on the AIRHAWK seating system will not be any warmer than on your regular seat, although with enhanced blood flow, you may experience a slightly warmer sensation.

Q6. How do you adjust and change the air pressure?
A6. The AIRHAWK seating system comes with a small portable hand air pump that allows you to fill the seating system with air in only three to four pumps. To inflate the AIRHAWK seating system to optimal firmness, sit on the seating system and open up the valve and allow yourself to sink down into the seating system as far as possible without bottoming out on the seat. Properly inflated you should only be off your existing seat about 0.5". Each seating stystem comes with detailed pictoral instructions.

Q7. What is the best inflation level for the AIRHAWK seating system?
A7. Contrary to intuition, a small amount of air will provided optimal comfort. The seating system will appear almost flat when inflated properly.

Q8. How high does the seating system raise you off of your existing seat?
A8. When properly immersed in the seating system, the driver will sit 0.5" or less above the existing seat.

After you adjust the seating system for the first time, can you leave it as is?
Initially, it is best to experiment with different inflation amounts to determine where the seating system feels best for you.

After that, however you should only have to adjust the cushion every once in a while, usually after large temperature changes.

A11. The seating system is secured with a skirt on the cover that fits securely around the seat base. A bungee cord that runs through the skirt is then attached to the seat hinge. This keeps the seating system from riding up when a driver gets in and out of the seat.

Q12. How to Adjust Your AIRHAWK Truck Seat Cushion
A12. Adjusting the AIRHAWK Seating System For the AIRHAWK Seating System to be effective, it must be properly adjusted. The goal is to allow yourself to sink as deeply as possible into the product without hitting the bottom. This is achieved by having as little air in the cushion as possible. Proper adjustment can only be done while you are sitting on the product.

• Step 1: Open the fill valve by unscrewing it counter-clockwise.
• Step 2: Add air using the pump until all of the cells are visibly filled. Close the fill valve by screwing it clockwise.
• Step 3: Place the AIRHAWK Seating System on your seat with the bungee cord hooks pointed toward the back of your seat and the skirt toward the front of the seat.
• Step 4: Sit on the System in your normal seated position and remain as still as possible.

Q13. Attaching Your Seating System to the existing truck seat
A13. Your AIRHAWK Seating System includes a cover that attaches directly to your existing truck seat. Place the AIRHAWK on the seat with the smooth fabric side up. Pull System skirt snug around the base of the existing truck seat. Hook bungee cord on back of each side of seat to hold AIRHAWK in place.
